Clients often ask me for recommended reading materials. Because there are so many books out there, it is difficult to make a perfect match - what may catch one person's attention may not apply to another. For this reason, I often recommend clients go to a large bookstore and just start scanning the books available in the areas they are interested in. After reading parts of each of the ones that look intriguing, clients are able to choose the one that seems to best fit their particular needs.
The following selections represent some of the books that have come to me through my own reading, colleagues and clients.
Forgiveness/Healing Relationships
Joel D. Block. Broken Promises, Mended Hearts: Maintaining Trust in Love Relationships. Contemporary Books. 2001.
Bill Ferguson. How to Heal a Painful Relationship: And if Necessary, Part as Friends. 1999.
Janis Abrhahms Spring. How Can I Forgive You? The Courage to Forgive, the Freedom Not to. HarperCollins. 2004.
Beverly Flanigan. Forgiving the Unforgivable: Overcoming the Bitter Legacy of Intimate Wounds. Wiley Publishing. 1992.
